Dual Credit

Students who enroll in dual credit have the opportunity to earn high school credit and college hours. These courses give students a "jump start" in higher education while giving them a challenging curriculum during high school.

Dual Credit Courses:
English Composition I (online)
English Composition II (online)
Principles of Biology I (online)
Principles of Biology II (online)
Public Speaking (online)
Macroecomics (online)
US History II (face to face)
Psychology (face to face)
College Algebra (online through DSU)

Students must meet the following criteria to be eligible for dual credit courses through Northwest CC:

  • Must have completed a minimum of fourteen (14) core high school units.

  • Must have required GPA-3.0

  • Must complete a Northwest Application for Admission

  • Must have official ACT scores.

  • Must have an unconditional written recommendation from their high school principal and/or guidance counselor. Students may be considered for the dual enrollment program who have not completed the minimum of  fourteen (14) core high school units if they have a minimum ACT composite score of thirty (30) or the equivalent SAT scores.

  • The dual credit clerk will send transcript/ACT scores and recommendation letter to NW after your application is complete.
